2018 Clinton Detweiler Scholarship Rules

HOW TO ENTER: To enter, beginning April 26, 2018 , submit a complete scholarship application online at Terry Fator’s Website (www.terryfator.com/scholarship2018). Entries must be received no later than May 25th, 2018 at 11:59 am Eastern Time. Limit one (1) application per person. Application must include name and contact information. If applicant is under the age of 18, the name and contact information of a parent or legal guardian must also be included. All applicants are required to submit a short original, previously unpublished written response to the scholarship topic, “Why should you be chosen to be awarded the Terry Fator Scholarship to the Vent Haven Convention?” Your written response must be written in English, and it must not exceed two-hundred fifty (250) words. No substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages will be accepted once you have submitted your original application. Responses that are obscene, pornographic or otherwise objectionable will be disqualified. All applicants must submit a short (TWO MINUTE) video showcasing their ventriloquism skills. All applications become the property of Terry Fator and Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. and will not be returned. Terry Fator and Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. assume no responsibility for lost, late, or misdirected entries. By submitting an application, you fully and unconditionally accept and agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of Terry Fator and Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc., which are final and binding.

Scholarships available to all U.S. and Canadian Residents excluding Quebec, CA. Void where prohibited.

Winners will be announced on or around June 1st, 2018

Scholarships will be awarded based on ventriloquism skills in the sole determination of Terry Fator and/or a representative of Puppet Boy Entertainment.

The awarding of any Scholarship Prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules. Applicants agree to be bound by Official Rules and agree that if any Scholarship Prize Recipient fails to provide proof of identity, refuses to provide required affidavit, refuses to complete and provide any requested tax forms (including IRS W-9 form), is found to have violated the Official Rules or otherwise does not meet eligibility criteria, Scholarship Prize will be forfeited and the applicant who submitted the application with the next highest score will become an alternate potential Scholarship Prize Recipient. Applicants understand that Sponsor is not liable for injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising from participation in this Scholarship Program and acceptance, possession and use of Scholarship Prize. Terry Fator and Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. are not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Scholarship Program or in the announcement of the Scholarship Prize. Taxes on scholarship items are sole responsibility of Scholarship Prize Recipient. Scholarship Recipient will be issued a 1099 tax form.
If applicant is under the age of 18, applicant must have his/her parents or legal guardian’s approval. If minor is awarded a scholarship, parent or legal guardian must accompany minor at the convention, including travel to and from the venue.
Scholarship fees must be used towards fees associated with the Vent Haven Convention in Cincinnati, OH from July 18-21, 2018.
Recipients of the scholarships will be provided a check in the amount of $2000.00 U.S.D.

Terry Fator and/or a representative of Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. will make the final decision on the finalists and ultimately who is awarded the scholarships.

Applicants agree and understand that by submitting an Application, recipient acknowledges that Terry Fator and Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. may also call and/or send the recipient information that they think may be of interest to them. Recipient’s information will not be shared or sold to a third party.

Except where prohibited, by accepting a Scholarship, the Scholarship Recipients agree that Terry Fator, Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. and/or affiliates may, without any limitation or further compensation or notice, use his or her name, voice and/or likeness in any and all media, worldwide, for the purpose of advertising and promoting the Website, Terry Fator and/or Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. and/or affiliates, the Scholarship Program, or any other promotion, contest or sweepstakes sponsored by Terry Fator and/or Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. and/or affiliates without any further compensation.
Any fees incurred outside of the $2,000.00 awarded for the convention will be at the sole responsibility of the persons awarded these scholarships.

Travel reservations and arrangements are solely the responsibility of each scholarship winner. Terry Fator and Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. will not be responsible for anything beyond providing the monetary value of the scholarship award.
Credit for up to $350 U.S.D. for an Axtell Expressions puppet will be awarded to each of the scholarship recipients. The credit may be used to cover the cost of (one) puppet, but shipping costs will be covered by person awarded with the scholarship.

If a puppet valued at more than $350 U.S.D. is desired, the person awarded with the certificate will be responsible for difference in price of puppet.  If the puppet value is less than the $350, no cash refund will be paid by Axtell.

Axtell Expressions credit may not be transferred and may only be used by person awarded with certificate.
Axtell Expressions Puppet certificate is valid for one year and will expire on July 17, 2019.

In the event Terry Fator and/or Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. is prevented from continuing with the Scholarship Program by any event beyond its reasonable control, then Terry Fator and Puppet Boy Entertainment, Inc. shall have the right in its sole discretion to modify, suspend, or terminate the Scholarship Program at any time.

The names and a copy of the video submission of the Scholarship Recipients of this Scholarship Program will be posted on the Terry Fator’s Website www.terryfator.com/scholarship2018.
